Zero to Hundred vs Gumroad

Gumroad is a storefront for digital products. It charges no monthly fee, 10% plus $0.50 on a direct sale, and 30% when a new customer buys through Discover. The direct rate does not include card or PayPal processing. Zero to Hundred sells licenses to working software and is free to list. A sale costs 8% + $0.50 when the Buyer comes through the Builder's share link, or 25% when they find the listing on the marketplace.

Gumroad figures are quoted from Gumroad's pricing page, fee help, Discover help, and public product description, checked 27 October 2026. Those pages can change.

What does each one sell?

Gumroad describes itself as a place where independent creators sell digital products, including ebooks, courses, music, software, design assets, and memberships. Each creator has a storefront. Discover is the browse and search surface across those products.

Zero to Hundred sells licenses to working software, and every listing has a working demo or walkthrough video. A Buyer pays once for a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use, modify, and deploy. The software doesn't need users or revenue, and the purchase doesn't include a business, a customer list, or revenue.

The two direct rates don't measure the same thing. Gumroad adds a card processing rate to its 10% plus $0.50. Zero to Hundred's commission is 8% + $0.50 or 25%, and the Terms of Use say processing fees and currency conversion costs may also be passed on.

On Zero to Hundred, the 8% + $0.50 rate applies when the Buyer arrived through the share link from the Builder's listing or Seller profile. The first click on that link counts for 30 days. A Buyer who comes from search or an AI assistant without that link makes it a marketplace sale at 25%.

Gumroad Discover is not automatic. The Discover help page says a creator needs payout settings, a balance of at least $100 from genuine sales, and a risk review before products can be listed there. A product also needs a successful sale, a category, and ratings enabled.
